Our History
G W Lamb Removals was started by Mr G. W. Lamb. He was a blacksmith who as well as completing house moves, also transported bodies to the cemetery. The following generation diversified into furniture retail and all went well until the Second World War…

History
When the Second World War broke out, like many other businesses, Mr Lamb helped out in any way he could and the vehicles were commandeered for the war effort. Never put down, Mr Lamb (third generation) started up again and re-established the firm.
During the Second World War, the vehicles that Mr Lamb had were commandeered for the war effort in and around the area. Mr Lamb was able to start up again after the war and re-established a firm who have transported everything from ponies to school meals and have even delivered to Buckingham Palace.

In more recent years, Lambs Removals and Storage have expanded into the surrounding areas and beyond. They have experience of moves abroad, reaching as far as Australia and more remote corners of the world. We also have experience assisting companies with moving offices within a building and whole business relocations.
Like the rest of the world, the United Kingdom went into lock down to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Many businesses closed their doors for a period of time, including Lamb Removals. We did, however, continue to operate our vehicles to assist the National Health Service with their logistics making sure they had their equipment at the right place.

Since 1907 travel routes have been transformed, with people finding it easier to move abroad. As a result, our drivers have been able to enjoy the scenic views from across Europe and our Overseas Manager has had the delights of increased paperwork for customers moving Internationally to places such as United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Thailand and Australia to name a few.
